Chlorine Tablets: Chlorine tablets can be added to your septic system in order to disinfect the treated effluent that comes from the treatment system. EPA-approved wastewater tablets must be used in the tablet feeders. Chlorine designed for pools or other applications can cause fire or an explosion if mixed with septic tablets.
Chlor-Away: Chlor-away can be added after the chlorine treatment in order to remove residual chlorine from the waste but is not typically needed unless it is required by your municipality.
Bio Jet 7: This is a bacteria supplement that can be added to your aeration system in order to help a sluggish system work more efficiently. It is available in either a liquid form or in no-mess dry packs.
Bio Jet 7 Plus: A biological blend that aids in the digestion of solids such as grease, fats, oils, and papers.
Bio Jet 7 Sludge Away: A non-hazardous, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly organic microbial-based liquid that helps with digesting hard-to-break down solids and sludges in your system. This chemical helps reduce phosphates, biological oxygen demand, sludge, and total suspended solids.
Bio Jet Ammonia Away: A environmental friends & non-hazardous additive that is designed to help reduce nitrates and ammonia.
Bio Jet 7 pH Fix Up: A chemical made of naturally occurring alkalinity which increases materials that are designed to maximize biological oxidation and increase your system’s overall performance.

Septic Tank Risers & Lids
Septic tank risers are pipes that extend from the surface of your yard to the septic tank that is located underground. This riser connects to your tank’s pump-out openings or the access port. These risers allow you to have access to your septic tank to inspect or pump it out without digging up your yard to do so. When you need to ensure that your tank is well protected, having a proper septic lid is a great way to go. These go alongside your risers in order to access the internal part of the tank.
Septic tank risers & lids must be made in order to handle the elements. This means that these risers are usually made from plastic or concrete so that they will not degrade over time. At Skelcher-Milani Septic Service, we utilize Jet risers in order to make sure that your system is getting a high-quality riser.
Septic Baffles
When it comes to the materials that septic baffles are typically made out of, this commonly is either concrete or PVC plastic. The PVC plastic baffles tend to last longer when compared to concrete, especially on the outlet side. You can also ask your septic contractor about getting an effluent filter placed inside of the outlet baffle in order to increase the effectiveness of keeping solids out of the leach field.
Remember, every septic system has risers, lids, and baffles. If your system’s accessory pieces break, or you want to upgrade your current ones, our team at Skelcher-Milani is able to help. Make sure you give our team a call today for more information about the accessories that we have available.
